The 2020 TMDF began normally, but amidst growing concern over a virus that had by now arrived in England. Speech & Drama went ahead, Vocal & Choral issued the necessary 'If you have recently returned from' warnings, and Dance began. By the following weekend the unease had grown but still seemed a distant threat and the Pianoforte, Dance and Signing Choirs days all happened. But the virus was spreading, and we had decided to cancel the Instrumental and final Dance weekend just before we would have had to anyway. The Gala concert was postponed with the hope it could be held in the Autumn... Little did we think then that the 2021 Festival would not even happen. We look forward to 2022...
